Healthcare Might Be Done For Now
Friday saw the defeat of the Republican Healthcare Bill. Although I am not sure you can call it a defeat as it never made it to the floor for a vote, after being pull for the second time in as many days.
Many in the Right leaning media has placed the blame square on the shoulders of Speaker Of The House Paul Ryan. Whereas those on the left tend to want to place it in The lap of President Trump.
No matter how you look at it it was a bill with failure stamped on it. The bill like Obama Care before it had the insurance companies finger prints all over it. As pointed out in an article on the New York Mag. website.
Publicly, Bannon has been working to help the bill pass. But privately he’s talked it down in recent days. According to a source close to the White House, Bannon said that he’s unhappy with the Ryan bill because it “doesn’t drive down costs” and was “written by the insurance industry.” While the bill strips away many of Obamacare’s provisions, it does not go as far as Bannon would wish to “deconstruct the administrative state” in the realm of health care.
Where have we heard that the Insurance Companies wrote a Healthcare Bill…… oh yea, Obama Care. I had written about this back on August 21, 2010 after the third time I read through the ACA.
It is showing that the so called providers, (The insurance companies) had their hands all over this law. That special Preexisting Condition Clause that people were so happy about, well it has a clause of its own. It will not take full effect in 2014, and yes, it’s true that you can’t be turned down for a condition you already had. However, it will come at a very expensive price. (Just what the poor and working poor need.)
I am not saying a healthcare bill should have some help from the Insurance experts, but they should not control the dialog.
Are Paul Ryan’s day numbered as Speaker Of The House
After the announcement Paul Ryan could not get the votes needed to pass the Bill, immediate grumbling began for Ryan’s job as Speaker. Although President Trump didn’t let on he was disappointed with Paul Ryan, insiders gave a different view.
(Edit note) If they speak under immunity take it with a grain of salt.
Behind the scenes, though, the president’s aides blame Ryan for the bill’s embarrassing defeat, which stymied a Republican goal for more than seven years, a senior administration official said.
Asked whether Trump, Ryan, or the Freedom Caucus chairman, North Carolina Republican Mark Meadows, would be most to blame if the bill fails, the administration official said Ryan.
So now all the country can do is set back and wait for the President to take care of what he feels needs done right now, which is tax reform. President trump said that we will just set back and let Obama Care explode. By letting it blow up will hurt more than fixing the system now. This is a game of political football, so we the spectators are caught in the middle of what many critics have called a planed move of Trumps all along. I being a libertarian hope this is not true, because if is it will have proven me right. Trump has such a big ego that winning is the only thing Trump cares about, at any cost, even that of the American people.
