Montel Williams Canceled For Saying What We All Are Thinking. (With Video)

February 5, 2008

It seems that we don’t have the freedom of speech in this country, as we were told growing up. Just like we were told anybody can grow up to be President of the United States. Truth be known, in my youth it was said, “Any young man can grow up to be President.

Back to the freedom of speech issue, it seems that if you go on Fox and Friends you had best stick to the subject at hand and not let your personal feelings show. Montel Williams during an appearance on Fox and Friends questioned the over kill coverage that the Heath Ledger’s death was receiving compared to the deaths that week in Iraq. No matter how much they tried to change the subject Montel kept going. After they came back from break Montel was not on the set. This after one of the host said that they would talk about Montel’s book.

Wiki

Shortly before Fox-owned and bias-operated television stations in major markets terminated Montel’s talk-show contract, Montel appeared in an interview on Fox News Channel’s Fox and Friends, and was asked to discuss Heath Ledger’s death. He used the interview to point out that TV networks had continued to extensively cover Mr. Ledger’s death while ignoring the deaths of 28 US soldiers in Iraq since the beginning of the year. Montel expressed sympathy for Mr. Ledger’s family and remorse for his passing but also encouraged the three interviewers to recognize the absence of coverage for the US soldiers killed in Iraq. The interviewers sought to point out that their audience wanted celebrity news and it was more interesting than soldier deaths. Montel suggested that US news networks had the capacity to lead the country’s attitudes by placing more importance on US deaths in Iraq than the deaths of celebrities. Montel noted that he had awoken that morning very saddened by the unknown names of those slain in Iraq and was further saddened when he could not find their names on the web.
Three minutes into this awkward segment on Fox, one host cut off Montel in order to go to a commercial. Montel did not return after the break.
Four days later, after 17 years as a television host, Montel lost his job.

More below the video.

It is a shame that Montel lost his show for what most of have been thinking since the media has started this fluff stories to cover up what the administration is doing and informing us what is going on in Iraq. Then the Host over at Fux use the lame excuse that this is what the viewers want. The reality is that the viewers would not even know half of this crap, if they had not been told by the media.

A question you have to ask yourself is, “When did missing people, fires, and traffic accidents become not only national news, but news that runs for months on end?

Montell was shady for backing Sylvia Browne and he used “freedom of speech” as an excuse and told people that they were focusing on the wrong things trying to put them in their place so he could make his exit on his high horse. That’s all.

We have freedom of speach, but we are Not free of consequences. i.e: If you really wanted to, you could stand in the middle of time square and shout whatever terrible racist/anti-american/sexist statement wou want. You can shout the “N” word, you can shout “women are whores, Jews are theives, and America sucks, etc.” You can’t be thrown in jail for simply stating an oppinion.
But if you get jumped by 5 people who didn’t like what you said and wind up in the back of an ambulance, that’s a chance that you took. Freedom of speach doesn’t mean freedom from consequences!!

    Montel Williams,

You need a new marketing agent. I just got home from work (15 hour shift – law enforcement). Lately, I have been juicing and was looking for something more along the line of your Health Master.

The only reason I am writing in this venue, which technically is not directly related except that I understand why your show may have/have had touble staying funded. It is possible you do not have the right people advocating for you and your best product – YOU! And there is no place to talk with you about these products on the Official Site for your food appliances.

This morning I tried to order the Health Master on the phone and told the sales agent, Jeff, who of course wanted to give me his pitch, talk about a ton of other products, I only wnated the product I called about. When I call to order products via the phone these days, I say, “please just give me what is offered on television and skip the hour long sales pitch.

Jeff said, “Wow you are missing out on a lot of things.” Which amount to nickle and diming me to death for a bunch of junk. I was very tired and told him to please process my order in a single transaction. He said he could not do that without charging me an addtional “special shipping charge” of $9.00. Then he told me he was going to charge me $80.00 something plus something else and did not say for how long. When I tried to get him to explain the run around in plain English, the conversation went from bad to worse. He said, ‘If you let me talk to you about everything else this would make sense. Otherwise, pay the extra $9.00 fee for me to make one simple transaction, not expose your credit card to four months of billings, and save some paper too.’

    What Montel?????

I said, “Please charge my card once for the full price of the machine.” He said he could not and that he would have to charge me an addtional $9.00 for a “special handling fee.” I can only assume I was being penalized for not listening to his sales pitch.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! If this is how you run you television show – outsourcing important details (details are important) to people who do not have your best interest at heart, I am not surprised why you have/have had difficulties today. This is not a hit below the belt, just good common sense and good business practice.

Thank you Montel, for I did find a place on line where I could order this machine in one payment without being penalized for not listening to someone elses agenda, but I chose to get out of bed, exhausted and confused by Jeff’s horrible presentation on your behalf.

Also Montel, not all people have access to the internet, especially people with lower incomes.

What the heck Montel! I would encourage you to find someone who knows how to think on a global level for you.

I want to buy the Health Master, but I am so discouraged after this unnecessary run around and by being held hostage by a sales agent who does not represent you but is more interested in offering the litany of other products I do not want. If I did, I would call for those items or go buy them from a store.

This type of sales pitch is frustrating and an insult; many vendors have lost sales from me because of this horrible marketing technique.

Montel, please have someone get back with me. I want to buy your blender today as advertised on television without someone else’s $9.00 special handeling fee attached because they could not make their sales pitch for something I did not call for!

Please help me out here. I have done it before and will do it again – not get a product because customer service means everything to me. This kind of customer service takes up unnecessary time – holds your potential customer hostage.

Again, thank you for having a website so I can purchase your product if I choose, but what about the people who do not have access to the internet. If they do not have the money for the internet, why would they have money for Jeff’s extra products or an addtional charge cause it does not fit his agenda? Jeff does not support your product unconditonally. I am concerned the customer service I will receive will reflect this same kind of thoughtlessness.

Sales are emotional. This just took all the fun out of this possible purchase of something I hoped would be an excellent product for my husband and me – a way for both of us to save money, eat more healthy, and possibly lose some weight.

    Awaiting your reply.

    Respectfully,
    Tammy

Montel Williams is a guy who upholds a moral code in an immoral, shallow, careless, unphilosophical world. People are economical though: it doesn’t worry about things that are not mandatory.

People don’t care that 550,000 innocent people are murdered by torture of chemotherapy every year in the USA, because of the FDA, ACS, and AMA. Simply read the book “World Without Cancer” if you want thet full story, or even google it, and get the edited, “Reader’s Digest” version of the truth.

People don’t care that we have an unlawful income tax, and an unlawful Federal Reserve that prevents us from storing wealth (saving monetary value for later in life). People don’t care. And their carelessness allows our government to brutalize those who do care. It allows rape-room prisons, it allows the theft of 97% of the value of our nation. It allows just enough freedom for people to work, so they can be stolen from, just the same way that cows are allowed just enough “free range” so they don’t beat themselves bloody trying to escape.

This is how free we are. Is this the best it gets?

    I say “no”.

Are there any other human beings out there?

I know there are. There are libertarians. There is Stefan Molyneux, there is Robert Arthur Menard, there is Marc Stevens, there is G. Edward Griffin, there is Leonard Peikoff, there is Barry Cooper, there is Montel Williams. There are also many others who are willing to stand for what is right.

Let’s join them, support them, and give them the force of numbers that they need.

And let’s demand that our government, honor our intelligence, our freedom, and out prperty rights. Because without honor and dignity, and freedom, there is nothing worth living for.

If we don’t own our own bodies, then the government owns them, and we are slaves.

The implications of this concept are many and deep: there should be no income tax, there should be no Federal Reserve (we should all be using gold, silver, or electronic representations of actual gold and silver), there should be no such thing as an illegal drug or gun, there should be fair jury trial without “voir dire” and without “judicial instruction to enforce or uphold the law” (juries need to be informed of their rights), there should be a minimal Libertarian government that provides only for the military, police, and courts. And of course, all of these should be limited by the constitution.

Of course, this will take a concerted battle to produce. But it is a battle well worth fighting.

I urge Montel Williams to run for office as a Libertarian. He would win, and he could win the highest office possible, possibly Senate or Governor. I would be happy to assist him in choosing a race, based on demographic likelihood of success.

To say that I am SEVERELY disappointed that Montel’s show is being cancelled for something as PETTY as expressing an unpopular opinion about Heath Ledger is an understatement! I have been watching the morning ‘talk shows’ for YEARS! As far as I’m concerned, Montel Williams IS THE ONLY SHOW ON TELEVISION that has REGULARLY shown any class at all! And he is being ‘cancelled’? GIVE ME A BREAK!

This is a country of free speech and seeingi all sides of things, why can’t Montel have his say as well? He does speak for many if not all of the people.

Fox-owned stations had decided to drop the show before Montel showed up on Fox and friends. I think he did the appearance to try and embarrass the network because of their decision. In any case, since Fox decided not to carrry the show in 2008-2009, CBS pulled the plug.

This piece, like many of the attacks on FOX I’ve seen, has the facts wrong. The Montel Williams show is a “Mountain View” Production with distribution through CBS — Not Fox. CBS dropped the show not Fox. Check your facts. Ok, so you can’t stand that FOX is so successful, and you want to attack the network, fine — Just try to do so in a way that doesn’t make you sound foolish.
