Black Water in Your Town/City, It’s a Possibility.

November 30, 2007

Imagine waking up one morning and you are staring down the barrel of an M-16. This could be a reality after the Pentagon hands out the contracts for national drug enforcement.

To be fair Blackwater is not the only mercenary up for the contracts. The Moyock, N.C., company, which was involved in a September shooting in Baghdad that left 17 Iraqis dead, is also in the running. There are four other companies in the hunt, Raytheon Co, Lockheed Martin Corp, Northrop Grumman Corp., and Arinc Inc. Though there are others, the main two in my opinion are Black Water and Moyock. Blackwater is in tight with the Pentagon and the Bush family. It seem that Black Water (formerly Blackwater USA) has the capability to still win contracts from the government.

Tensions with Iraq over the U.S. employment of private contractors are likely to persist. Saturday, a #”DynCorp International guard shot and killed an Iraqi taxi driver in Baghdad as a convoy passed a traffic jam. Iraq’s Interior Ministry alleged that the shooting was unprovoked.

There is a good chance that smoking a joint will get you at the business end of an M-16, while they are collecting a 15 billion dollar paycheck.

Companies competing for the work might be called on to develop detection or surveillance technology; train U.S. and foreign forces; or provide logistics, communications and information-technology systems, among other areas.

Now there are allegations that Blackwater personal were using steroids and other mind altering drugs while on duty in Iraq. It turns out that at least a quarter of the Blackwater guards that were involved in the shootings in Iraq were on steroids, and other drugs when it happened.

The lawsuit accuses Blackwater of failing to control the use of steroids among its guards — an allegation Burke said came from “people in that community,” and one she said would be backed up as the case progresses.

If I were a betting man I would bet Blackwater will be the beneficiary of the 15 billion dollars, as I said before, Eric Prince is in good with the Bush’s and the religious community.
