Wold War III Laughable At Least To Bush

October 19, 2007

Today I write to my stanch democratic friends in Yahoo PL#6. You know the people; they are the ones that are running around overjoyed that Hillary Clinton is leading in the polls and the fundraising. Yes they are saying such things as Vote for “Hill and Get Bill”, or with Hillary you get 2 for 1.

Well I told myself that I would not continue to argue with them, on issues like, The democrats will only continue on with the Iraq massacre, or that Hillary is Bush with Breast. Basically nothing will change and all things will move on as planed. You see there was a time in my life when I work hard for the Democrats for the White House, (2000/2004) only to have both democratic candidates hand it over to PNAC picked candidate. In 2000 when the Supreme Court followed the orders that were handed them on who was to be put in the Oval Office, I was saddened. However when in 2004 Kerry just turned belly up with out the votes being counted, I was totally Fucked Off.

Now I come to the 2006 Midterm Elections and well most of the people were sick of the Iraq war, and the killing of soldiers and innocent Iraqis, so they voted democrat because they were told that the democrats would bring the troops home. Yet we have failed to see that happen, what we have seen and heard is more money turned over to Bush for his war. We have seen the troop size in Iraq shoot up even after the surge, and even today there is news of 20,000 National Guard going to Iraq.

story

PENTAGON (AP) – The Pentagon is set to alert eight National Guard units to be ready for deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan starting late next summer.

Defense officials tell The Associated Press that 7 of the units will deploy to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. An announcement is not expected until later this week.

The military is reaching out to more Guard units to ease strain on active-duty Army personnel and provide security for ports, convoys and installations. U.S. officials are also trying to maintain necessary troop levels.

Specific brigades were not identified, but the officials say they will include units from North Carolina, Oklahoma, Illinois and Hawaii.

All together, the Guard announcement would involve about 20,000 soldiers.

Ok, so we have all this stuff going on, and I come across a story about Bush laughing and wearing that fucking stupid smirk on his face while talking about a possible World War Three. Yes most of the Neo-Con will tell you he was joking around because he knows it won’t happen, and I say bullshit. He is like that little kid that says, “I know something you don’t, nay, nay, nay, nana.” The push by the White house for an attack on Iran is on. It seems I am not the only one who sees it. In fact there are a lot of us, like Bob Cesca over at The Huffington Post. Bob hit on a few points that I found interesting, and that I have been thinking for a while now.

I suggest that you give the whole diary a read it is not that long, but does make, a hell-of a lot-of-sense. The small bit I reprinted below say a lot.

Bob Cesca

As near as I can tell, there doesn’t appear to be a governing body or citizen group who can stop them from carrying this out. Congress won’t and, honestly, they can’t. Last night’s Frontline episode, “Cheney’s Law,” underscored what we’ve all been worried about: Congress has been rendered ineffectual against the current power madness of the executive.

Ok, now here is where this all ties together. While under the 109th Congress when the democrats were saying that they where not going to filibuster the republicans, on laws and people they were introducing because they were waiting for the right political moment, and it never came. Well, the consequences were the deaths of troops. And now you have them doing the same thing, PLAYING POLITICS WITH THE LIVES OF TROOPS. So in my opinion they care as much for the troops as the republicans do. NOT AT ALL!

so by being apathetic in their approach and we in ours we have allowed the administration set themselves and those who will replace them, up with more power than any executive branch in the History of this country.

An interesting premise but I wish you had presented more facts to support your claims.

You state that both Al Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004 handed over their presidential aspirations to the PNAC. Why did they do that? Didn’t they want to win?

Your next sentence says the Supreme Court received orders to put George Bush in office. Who gave the orders to the Supreme Court to do that? Was that the PNAC again?

Why did you and all who voted for Democrats in 2006 to end the war think they would? They could, you know if they really wanted to. All they have to do is cut off the funding and there are enough Democrats to do that. So why don’t they? If I had supported and voted for someone who said they were going to end the war and then didn’t, I would want to know why. Have you asked your congressman?

You said, “We have seen the troop size in Iraq shoot up even after the surge,” and point to an Associated Press article. The article says the troop size is decreasing, that there are currently 20 brigades with 171,000 soldiers but as the drawdown continues, military strength will be reduced to 15 brigades and 135,000 troops.

You say your apathy has allowed this administration and those who will replace them (Democrats… or will the PNAC put another Republican in office?) to set themselves up with more power than any executive branch in history.

Do you think they will be suspending habeas corpus on American citizens and arresting newspaper editors like Abraham Lincoln did? Do you think they’ll round up all the Muslims in America and lock them up in relocation camps like President Roosevelt did? Do you think they’ll freeze wages and prices like Nixon did? Or maybe they’ll just re-introduce President Woodrow Wilson’s “100% Americanism” law during WWI when it became a crime to “utter, print, write, or publish any disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language about the form of government of the United States, or the military or naval forces of the United States, or the flag.”
