Will There Be an Attack?

August 29, 2007

As we pull closer to scheduled departure of the entire Bush administration, the threat of an attack on Iran looks more, and more less likely, or does it?

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, seems to feel that an attack by the U.S. it not going to happen because the Bush Administration has to much on its plate now with Afghanistan and Iraq.

Story

“There is in no way the possibility of such an attack by the United States. Even if they take such a decision they cannot implement it,” he told a news conference. “They have to solve the question of Iraq and Afghanistan.”

“Politicians do not deal with imaginary things. They deal with reality and this is propaganda. This (an attack) is not on the agenda of US officials and it cannot be,” he said.

It has been put out in the media that Dick Cheney has been pressuring George W. Bush to stage an attack on Iran. The latest War Drumming coming out of Washington D.C. is that there is possibilities of a nuclear holocaust over the Middle East still exist. However the good news is that we can start calling Freedom Fries, French Fries again. France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy seems to have taken sides with Bush.

Story

Sarkozy praised the current diplomatic initiative by the major world powers, which threatens tougher United Nations-mandated sanctions if Iran does not stop enriching uranium for possible use in a nuclear weapon but holds out the possibility of incentives if Iran complies.

This two-pronged approach, Sarkozy said, “is the only one that can enable us to avoid being faced with a disastrous alternative: an Iranian bomb or the bombing of Iran.”

Calling the Iranian nuclear crisis “the most serious weighing on the international order today,” Sarkozy also reiterated his position that a nuclear-armed Iran would be “unacceptable” to France.

It is now clear why George W. Bush said that he would vacation in France now, he has a new best’est buddy, to replace Fox.

So will there be an attack on Iran, personally I believe there will be. However I don’t think that the Ball that has been put in motion states and stops with this administration. It goes much deeper that them. Much, much deeper.
