Sticks and Stones May Cause Wars, But Names May Hurt Your Feelings.

April 14, 2007

While browsing the MSNBC website to see what they were saying about this whole “Nappy Headed Hoe” mess, I came across an article about one more person that was really scarred for life in this ordeal. Read On.>>>

It seems that DJ Gary Smith, told his listeners on Tuesday the Phrase That Pays would be, (You guessed it) “I am a nappy headed hoe.” The prize was tickets to a NSCAR event at a local club. (Gary, the phrase should have been, “I am a drunken redneck.”) Now see I can say that and not get fired, because I am a huge NASCAR fan. Oh yea, and this gig does not pay. Story

Station management reviewed a tape of the broadcast of the “Gary in the Morning” show and fired Smith, Musselman said.
Musselman said that Smith was fired and not suspended because he uttered the slur in a premeditated manner, “with full knowledge of the reaction to Don Imus’ use of the exact same phrase.”

Now by stating that it was premeditated, Mr. Musselman should give Gary back his job. Why you may ask, well I will explain my way of thinking. Gary Smith was just repeating the Phrase of the Week in MSM. By doing that he was just playing with the big boys. But, because there is the slight chance that the Rutgers girls basket ball team may have heard it, the station must be “Politically Correct”.

WSBG 93.5, a 3,000-watt rock station, is based in Stroudsburg, about 40 miles northeast of Allentown. The Princeton, N.J.-based Nassau is privately held with more than 50 radio stations in the Northeast.

The American_BadAss_607 dictionary defines Politically Correct as meaning: Not using certain words that might hurt the feelings of certain, Races, Religions, Animals, and Genders. By following these rules we can continue to, Pussy-fie the nation.Example; “That person is a bitch.” By using the word “Bitch” and sticking to the PC standards, I managed to insult women, animals, and drag queens. Now let’s take a look at the three words that did Imus in.

1. Nappy;
A. Having a nap; fuzzy. B. Kinky; frizzy C. cooking pan. D. a diaper.

2.Headed; self-explanatory.

3. Hoe; A tool with a flat blade attached approximately at a right angle to a long handle, used for weeding, cultivating, and gardening.

Yes I know that it is not the spelling that was used, so here it is.

4. Ho; A. The symbol for the element holmium. B. Bible Hosea. C. Used to express surprise or joy, to attract attention to something sighted, or to urge onward: Land ho! Westward ho! D. Slang A prostitute. [African American Vernacular English, Alteration of Whore.]

The Hypocrisy of It.

As the self-proclaimed leaders of the media took aim at Don Imus, they failed to look at the people who used far worse analogies than Imus.

Media Matters

CNN Headline News host Glenn Beck, also a “regular commentator” for ABC’s Good Morning America, has called Hillary Clinton “the stereotypical bitch” and Rosie O’Donnell a “fat witch” with “blubber … just pouring out of her eyes.” He has referred to Katrina survivors as “scumbags” and declared that “I didn’t think I could hate victims faster than the 9-11 victims.” He has also said on-air that he was “thinking about killing Michael Moore” and told the first Muslim ever elected to Congress, “what I feel like saying is, ‘Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.’ ”
Syndicated radio host Neal Boortz has claimed that “at its core,” Islam is a “violent, violent religion,” and said, “[T]his Muhammad guy is just a phony rag-picker.” Boortz asserted that “[i]t is perfectly legitimate, perhaps even praiseworthy, to recognize Islam as a religion of vicious, violent, bloodthirsty cretins.” Boortz also described then-Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA), who is African American, as looking “like a ghetto slut,” like “an explosion at a Brillo pad factory,” like “Tina Turner peeing on an electric fence,” and like “a shih tzu.”
Bill O’Reilly told a Jewish caller to his radio show “if you are really offended, you gotta go to Israel.” O’Reilly routinely makes sexually suggestive comments about his radio co-host, Lis Wiehl, including his suggestion that she might want to learn to become a stripper, to which he added, “You’re a good-looking girl. I mean, if you haven’t seen Lis on TV, she’s a good-looking blonde.”
Michael Savage, who lost his own MSNBC show after he told a caller he hoped he would “get AIDS and die,” recently called Barbara Walters a “double-talking slut” and said of Melissa Etheridge, “I don’t like a woman married to a woman. It makes me want to puke.” He also told listeners that gay people “threaten your very survival” and said that the “average prostitute” is “more reliable and more honest than most U.S. senators wearing a dress.”
And Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter … well, they are Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. If they aren’t insulting women or minorities, they’re probably asleep.

We need to know that, going after the easy target is not going to solve anything. It just drives the others to be careful for awhile, and then they will be right back at it.

Ps. The clip is a funny look at this.
