Let’s Nip this in the Bud Right Now, or Will one of these be your Democratic Pick?

January 3, 2007

The country is going crazy with Obama fever at the moment. He is being given what the mainstream is calling “Rock Star” status. However, we must remember that a lot of One-Hit-Wonders have been called Rock Stars. Obama has a lot going for him right now, he is good looking, young, he is saying all the right things, He is politically savvy, and he’s black. Read on.>>>

The Washington Post did an article on the Clinton/Obama, Obama/Clinton ticket, (you get the idea) and their differences.

Although they voted with fellow democrats 90% of the time, it is the 10% they didn’t that will setup material for mudslinging during the “2008” campaign, but you will have that anyway, no matter how deep they have to dig.

Now I will tell you right up front, I cannot vote for either of these candidates. Barack Obama lacks experience, and Hillary Clinton, well what can I say?
She can tell me until she turns blue in the face, that her vote for the war in Iraq was a mistake, (with what she knows now) but I know better. I have taken the time to read the Resolution to go to war and it is as plain as day what was going to happen. All the excuses in the world will not cover that up.
HJ Res. 114

Hillary has a way of triangulating every issue so that it sounds as if she was on the right side all along. Even though I feel that way, she has a good chance of getting the Democratic nomination. One reason is that she has Bill as the “First Spouse”, another is that she is not Republican, (but she is the next best thing), and she is a woman.

I am sure that Barack Obama will one day make a fine President, but I don’t see it happening this time around. As I said before, he lacks experience.

Acording to the Washington Post their differences are;

The areas of dispute include energy policy, congressional ethics and budget priorities, relations with Cuba, gun ownership, and whether a senator can hold a second job.

The last issue is a no-brainer. If a Senator is allowed to hold a second job, they are open to outside influences. It is bad enough that we have to worry about the influence of corporations, and lobbyist money during the election process. However to let them work directly for them while in office is downright ludicrous.

In late 2005, Obama allied with Republicans to support creating an exception to Senate rules to allow Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) to continue practicing medicine on a not-for-profit basis. Clinton opposed the change, an aide explained, because she believes that senators should not have a second source of income. Gibbs said that Obama, as an author of two best-selling books, was sympathetic to Coburn’s request.

How They Voted, Samrt Vote

They both have voted on Bills that I just can’t overlook. Things that are very important to me, my freedoms, and rights. They both voted yes on the Military Commissions Act 2006, and then voted to strike the language not allowing refusal of Habeas Corpus. (It was too little too late.) They both voted for the Patriot Act Revision. (This still managed to take rights away.

Barack Obama, voted no on the Assistance for low income heating. However on this Bill I can over look this vote because of the Riders that were attached. As Senator Daschle explains,

A senator is called upon to vote on almost everything,” said former senator Thomas A. Daschle (D-S.D.), who recently decided against a 2008 bid. Legislative records become “an inviting target for any political opponent,” he said, because so few votes speak for themselves, much less reflect a lawmaker’s true ideals. The Senate’s unofficial motto: Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. That’s hard to explain in a debate, Daschle noted.

However Hillary Clinton Voted for Bills that make my skin crawl when it comes to the rights of the people. She voted for, The Patriot Act, The Intelligence Reform Act 2004, The Patriot Act Revision.

So as you can see there are many reasons why I cannot vote for these two, if they are put up by the DNC. So vote your convictions, and hope they don’t get you convicted.

Whom would you like to see represent the Democrats in “08”?

A. Barack Obama

B. Hillary Clinton.

C. John Edwards.

D. Al Gore.

E. Other.

Since there is no polling on here yet, (Hint-Hint) give your selection in the comments. Thank-you. ABA

It doesn’t matter who you vote for, they are all working for the same global elites. They all have the same agenda. Proof: New “democratic” congress has done nothing to reverse any of the police-state measures put in by Bushco such as the Patriot Act, DMCA, NSA spying, FEMA camps, etc.

It’s like WWE Wrestling folks, they all work for the same master.

I really think that person is John Edwards, but because of that he may not see the nomination. He will not play ball with the big money.

I still like Al Gore…a part of me would love to see how a woman would do in the White House, but I’m just not sure Hillary is the one. The problem with politics is that by the time a person gets to that level, they are so jaded, they no longer make the best candidate. There are many people who refuse to run for any office that would be perfect… but that’s probably why. They are grounded, their convictions are strong and not for sell. But, since that will never happen, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see who puts in a bid, and go from there. Is there a person who exist who would run for president for the love of Country, and not for the love of power? I’m not holding my breath.
