Climbing From The Rubble

It seems that in the past year or so more and more the internet is being censored by governments, thoughts and the way we display them are under siege. There has been a Bill that is worrisome and could be construed as making thoughts illegal, the Bill is HR 1955/S1959 . In the past I have written on the possibilities of this so called, “Bill for the Children.” When I hear that term, I am reminded of a George Carlin skit were all the Clinton people would say, “Think of the Children” and to that Carlin said “Fuck the Children!”

The “Thought Crime Bill” was put in the non-controversial bill pile, or so we are told. So far I have not found any new information on these Bills, and according to http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h110-1955<Gov-Track the Bill is waiting to be voter on the Senate. This Bill is basically under a media blackout and if it were not for bloggers, the news of this blatant disregard for your rights would not even been heard of. (Until it was a law that is.) You will find a few in the chat rooms that defend the law by saying that it is only to form a committee to study the problem. However nothing could be further from the truth. Notice the last action taken on the Bill.

Oct 24, 2007: Received in the Senate and Read twice and referred to the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

The Bill is vague in its language as are most of the Bills that are written for Homeland Security, that deal with the arresting or roundup of citizens they feel are a threat to Them.

“. . . the use, planned use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United States or any possession of the United States to intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.”

The other day a friend gave me this video to watch and I have to say, That when it was done I don’t know if I was more pissed, or frightened. The film is titled “ This is what a Police State Looks Like”. If you haven’t seen it, this is a must watch. If you have seen it, it deserves another look.

Now keeping in time with the primaries I found a great video over a YouTube it shows the connection between the CFR and the 2008 Candidates. Just a little side note for the Obama fans out there. (Obama is CFR and so is his advisor Zbigniew Brezezinski.) I find the opening text says it all,
